Miss
RI Outstanding Teen '06 given $502,000 in college
scholarships. With
the Miss America Scholarship program entering its 3rd
year with the Miss America's Outstanding Teen program it
is truly showing it's benefits in many ways. When Miss
Rhode Island's Outstanding Teen 2006, Lindsay Lee
Rogers, started her search for college she never dreamed
of the overwhelming acceptance letters and scholarship
opportunities that would be awarded to her.
As Miss Rhode Island's Outstanding Teen 2006, Lindsay
Lee Rogers, began to receive her first award letters
from colleges she found she had an enormous amount of
scholarships available to her as Miss Rhode Island's
Outstanding Teen. This year she will be starting her
freshman year of college at her #1 first choice Suffolk
University in Boston, MA. She was also accepted to other
colleges giving her the opportunity to choose from
$502,000.00 in scholarships and one full ride
scholarship for 4 years. These were not prizes for
winning her title nor were they academic scholarships.
These award scholarships were scholarships from
individual colleges for her community and leadership
qualities that each college recognized as being Miss
RI's Outstanding Teen. That's half a million dollars as
Miss RI's Outstanding Teen to choose from of where to go
to college!
Lindsay's platform is Teen Peer Pressure, Teen Drinking,
Teen Drugs and Making the Right Life's Choices. Every
newspaper and TV has covered her story and she has been
recognized for outstanding leadership in her state.
Thanks to the Miss America program and the Miss
America's Outstanding Teen program, Lindsay is a fine
example of the benefits of the Miss America's
Outstanding Teen program.
