- The Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization (MAOT)
announced today that ybf (your best friend) Beauty, created by
television shopping maven Stacey Schieffelin, is the title
sponsor of Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2009!
"We are so proud to support the MAOT program and pageant,"
says Schieffelin. "We really believe in the vital work that
this organization is doing to help empower girls, build their
self confidence and offer them potentially life-changing

A former Ford model, Schieffelin founded an international

MAOT, the "little sister" to Miss America, will host its
national competition in Orlando during the week of August
11-15, 2009 with 52 state representatives competing in various
competitions for a chance to win over $30,000 in college
scholarships and the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen.
The competition will be held in the Linda Chapin Theatre at
the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Sunday" event hosted by Savvy magazine in Orlando, Florida.
Contestants will walk the red carpet in their trendy Savvy

CAREER EXPLORATION WITH GIRLS KNOW HOW® BOOKS
Orlando,
FL – August 1, 2009 – Miss America's Outstanding Teen is
partnering with Girls Know How® (Downingtown, PA) to promote
reading and career exploration to elementary and middle school
children across the country. Girls Know How comprises a
fictional series of fun, entertaining chapter books that
encourage readers ages 8 to 12 to pursue the careers of their
dreams.
To launch the relationship, Girls Know How is sponsoring the
Princess Makeover Party as part of the Miss America's
Outstanding Teen 2009 Pageant festivities in Orlando, Florida,
on August 14.
The same day, author Ellen Langas Campbell will lead a career
workshop for the Miss America's Outstanding Teen State
Titleholders, who will be named Official Girls Know How
Ambassadors and receive a complete set of books to donate to
their own elementary schools or community libraries. The teens
also will be provided with everything they need to conduct
programs about career exploration for students at home.
"The message of our books is simple," says Ellen. "With
desire, hard work and positive role models, girls really can
